Anniversary Concert

The Sokol Polish Folk
Ensemble is celebrating its 90th anniversary. To commemorate
this commitment of an on-going tradition of choral music and folk dance, a
gala concert will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 7pm, at the Centennial
Concert Hall.
The concert promises to be
a memorable one. It will celebrate the most beautiful and colourful pieces
of
music and dance from FOLK to CLASSICAL. Our choir and
dancers will be performing under the direction of
Tadeusz Biernacki, and
choreography by Sandro Barbosa
and Jane Bibik. In
addition, we will feature two guest artists:
Mariola Plazak-Scibich, a soloist
from the Silesian Opera Company in Bytom, Poland, and
Krzysztof Biernacki, a former
member of the Ensemble, and now a Vancouver based baritone appearing
regularly with Vancouver Opera, Calgary Opera and Winnipeg Opera.
