Dance Repertoire -

  • Kujawiak-Oberek - Two of Poland's national dances. The elegant and romantic Kujawiak is contrasted by the lively and playful Oberek.

  • Krakowiak - Another of Poland's national dances.  This dance, which originated in the Krakow region of southern Poland, is characterized by the colourful costumes, quick steps, and the brisk, energetic tempo of the music.

  • Szot Madziar - A dance from the Cieszyn region of southern Poland.  The influence of several centuries' contact with Hungarian culture can be noticed in both the music and the movements of this spirited dance.

  • Baba-Dziad - This dance depicts some of the rich Carnival traditions of the Wilamowice region of southern Poland.  The party really gets interesting when "Baba" arrives, carrying a basketful of surprises on her back.
